Great image, there's a halo effect around the storr was that backlighting?
I don't think so. This was originally processed as a colour HDR picture and hastily converted to B&W for the competition. In the colour version the halo wasnt so noticeable (and neither were the shameful dust spots). I was rushing to put in an entry at the last minute and didn't clean up properly
I wonder if it is due to sharpening, or the contrast sometimes causes an edge effect,
