Meetings
The Club meets on Tuesday evenings at East Ord Village Hall between September and April. Meetings start at 7.30pm and usually finish no later than 9.30pm. We generally stop for a cup of coffee and biscuit at some point (bring 50p!). We also meet up on the 2nd Sunday of each month during the day at different locations for a Sunday Shoot, so bring your cameras for that. The Sunday Shoots continue between April and September when we are not meeting in the village hall.
Zoom
We try and stream all our meetings over Zoom so those who are not able to attend in person can still join in, though some meetings (e.g. practical workshops) are not suitable for Zoom. Some of our guest speakers are not local and they will make their presentations over Zoom. Instructions on how to access Zoom are on the Club pages of the website.
Subscriptions
Prospective members are welcome to attend for a few weeks before we ask for any subscriptions. The current rates are £40 for Adults and £10 for Under 18s. Members are encouraged to pay via Bank Transfer where possible and the account details are on given on the Club pages of the website.
Website
The website plays an important role in the life of the club. Members are all able to set up a personal Gallery to display their images and can also contribute to Club Galleries which are set up for specific topics. Members also post pictures in the 'Showcase' gallery, particularly when wanting to encourage feedback or suggestions for others. Your personal gallery and Club galleries can be seen by anyone visiting the website (along with any comments) but the Showcase Gallery is only visible to members.
Another feature of the website only accessible to members are the Bulletins. Any member can post a bulletin and the website will alert the membership by email that it has been posted. You can use this to share information, ask questions, sell equipment etc.
The website will also be the means by which you can enter the various competitions that the club runs throughout the season. Obviously for Print competitions you will have to bring along a physical print but all digital competitions are conducted through the website. You are also encouraged to upload a digital copy of any prints that you enter so it can be displayed on the website's Results gallery.
The website should be easy to navigate and use but there is a short guide to all the main features available - see below.
The website is maintained by Paul Anderson. If you have any difficulties you can contact him via the "Meet the Members" section of the Club pages.
